For a proper and complete oral hygiene routine, you should brush your teeth with toothpaste at least 2 times a day for 2 minutes. In addition, it is important that you clean your tongue and the spaces between your teeth (interproximal areas). It is advisable to finish up with mouthwash.

For this reason, we recommend using dental floss or tape, interproximal brushes and/or oral irrigators to ensure complete oral hygiene. It is advisable to perform interproximal cleaning once a day.

Due to its mechanism of action, fluoride is a very effective component in caries prevention and tooth enamel remineralisation. The products marketed by DENTAID that contain fluoride include the appropriate concentration according to the recommendations of Scientific Societies.

DENTAID offers a wide range of toothpastes and mouthwashes whose fluoride content adapts to the needs of the entire population, specifying on its children’s products the accepted age to start using the products, in accordance with the recommendations outlined in the paediatric dentistry guidelines.

  • As of the eruption of a child’s first tooth and up to 3 years of age: use a very small amount, similar to the size of a grain of rice, of dental gel containing 1000 ppm of fluoride.
  • Between 3 and 6 years: use a pea-sized amount of dental gel containing 1000 ppm of fluoride.
  • As of the age of 6 years: use 1-2 cm of dental gel containing 1450 ppm of fluoride.

Any use in children under the age of 6 must always be under the supervision of a dentist.

Cetylpyridinium Chloride (CPC) is a safe antiseptic that has been shown to be effective in reducing certain bacteria, fungi and viruses. It is widely used in toothpastes and mouthwashes for the prevention of oral diseases. There is scientific evidence showing its efficacy against viruses including influenza, rotavirus, herpes simplex virus, hepatitis B and some coronaviruses.

It is advisable to visit your dentist / dental hygienist at least once a year. This frequency is recommended for those people who maintain good oral hygiene, as it allows them to prevent or control slowly developing problems. If you suspect you have a problem in your mouth, visit your dentist as soon as possible to get a diagnosis of your condition.
