Waterpik® water flossing: Removes 99.9% of bacterial plaque

Dentaid News

The toothbrush is the most important mechanical tool to keep bacterial plaque in check. However, it only cleans 60% of a tooth’s surface.

The interproximal area (the space between the teeth) accounts for the remaining 40%. Due to the build-up of bacterial plaque in the interproximal space, the main oral pathologies and problems such as tooth decay, periodontal disease and halitosis originate there.

WATER FLOSSERS CLEAN THIS 40%, by removing both oral biofilm and the remains of food stuck between the teeth.

What is the Waterpik® water flosser?

Waterpik® water flossing consists of a direct application of a pulsating stream of water or another solution, which helps to remove the bacteria deposited on the surface of the teeth, on the edge of the gums and in hard-to-reach areas including periodontal pockets, braces, bridges, crowns, etc.

Benefits of Waterpik® water flossing in combination with daily brushing

- Ultimate clean and fresh feeling

- Removes dental plaque from difficult-to-reach areas

- Improves gum health

- Facilitates the cleaning of crowns, implants and braces

- Improves access to periodontal pockets (periodontitis)

Tested in clinical studies

- Removes 99.9% of bacterial plaque

- Improves the health of the gums, as it reduces gingival inflammation and bleeding and plaque indices on all sides of the tooth, with noticeable results after 14 days of use.2,3,4,5
