Pharma advice

07 Nov 2011

Oral irrigation is the direct application of a stream of water or mouthwash solution, which is recommended by the dentist to remove bacterial deposits on teeth, gums and in hard-to-reach areas.

Waterpik® oral irrigators provide improved gingival health, and are clinically proven to be 93% more effective in improving gingival health when combined with a manual toothbrush when compared to brushing alone (Barnes CM et al. J. Clin Dent 2005).

Oral irrigation is indicated for anyone, but is particularly useful for people who have braces, implants or crowns. It is also very effective in people who have more strict oral hygiene needs, such as diabetics.

Benefits :

Achieves more superior bacterial plaque removal, preventing the appearance of caries and gum disease..Reduces bleeding and improves gum health.Controls gingival inflammation and gingivitis.Allows for intense cleaning while protecting oral tissues.Makes cleaning crowns, implants and braces easier.Allows for better oral care in people with special oral hygiene needs.Increases clean and fresh feeling in the oral cavity.
