Desensin^® repair mouthwash repairs the enamel of sensitive teeth and complements the dual desensitising action of the toothpaste, by reaching areas that are difficult to access and by retaining active ingredients in the mouth for longer periods of time. 

Desensin repair products repair sensitive teeth from the first application^1,2 thanks to the hydroxyapatite nanoparticles which deposit on exposed dentinal tubules, thereby sealing them and forming a protective layer that eliminates dental sensitivity-related pain.

The biggest challenge when formulating these mouthrinses was to obtain a stable formula with an elevated hydroxyapatite nanoparticle activity on the tooth surface. After conducting several stability studies, DENTAID’s R&D Department was able to determine that the concentration of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles in these new mouthwash formulations is the most optimum concentration to ensure stability. 

In parallel, it was proven via scanning electron microscopy that at this concentration, hydroxyapatite nanoparticles are effectively deposited on the tooth enamel surface.
