INNOVATION IN ORAL HEALTH, A COMMON DENOMINATOR

News

06 Apr 2017

DENTAID has been present at several dental congresses sharing our latest breakthroughs in this field. Domestic and international scientific events always make for interesting engagements with the scientific community and are an opportunity to share and find out about the latest product releases for treating the many different existing oral conditions.

As sponsor of scientific societies such as the Spanish Society of Dental Prosthetics (SEPES), the Spanish Society of Periodontology and Osseointegration (SEPA) and the Spanish Society of Oral Surgery (SECIB), DENTAID has participated in all of their most recent conferences, and each one of these meetings has had one common denominator: sharing the latest innovations in oral health with the dental community.

The 46th Annual Meeting of SEPES featured a DENTAID lecture given by Dr. Xavier Calvo on Xerostomia, a little-known condition. The speech made clear that about half of those over the age of 60 may experience xerostomia, which is especially serious as in some cases it may go unnoticed. Innovation, technological breakthroughs in dental treatment, and teamwork were the main focus points of the 46th Annual SEPES Meeting, held in Bilbao.

The 7th Symposium on Oral Hygiene which took place in Peniche, Portugal was the ideal setting for the presentation of the new VITIS® anti-caries range. Taking the opportunity of the launch, a talk addressing dental hygienists was given on dental caries, discussing the causes of this multifactorial disease, the factors involved and the importance of prevention in order to prevent its occurrence.

Another event that brought together hygienists was the 28th National Conference of the Spanish Dental Hygienists Association (HIDES) in Santander, Northern Spain. The meeting showcased the field’s newest breakthroughs in the 21st century, such as the reconstruction of soft tissues around the teeth or the management of social networks in the dental clinic, amongst other subjects.

One of the features at the 13th National Congress of SECIB was the Top Communication segment, an initiative where the youngest working groups and professionals had the chance to deliver their oral presentations.

The 4th SEPA JOVEN (Young SEPA) was another key get-together for students and young professionals in dentistry where they shared studies, including the progress in regeneration in periodontics, amongst other topics.
