DENTAID SPONSORS THE 7th COURSE ON RESEARCH METHODOLOGY IN DENTISTRY

The seventh course on Research Methodology in Dentistry in Chile brought together students from various graduate and postgraduate programmes at Chilean universities with the aim of learning about ongoing research into periodontics, implant dentistry and rehabilitation.
This year again, this high-level scientific meeting boasted expert speakers in the field, including Dr Nelson Carranza and Dr Humberto Maturana Romesin, and received the endorsement of the Chilean Society of Periodontology, the Chilean Society for Prosthetics & Oral Rehabilitation, and the Chilean Society of Oral Implantology.
The work awarded by the Chilean Society of Periodontology was the project “Leukocyte- and platelet-rich (L-PRF) fibrin in conjunction with non-surgical periodontal therapy: a split-mouth clinical study” presented by Dr. Natalia Jardel Soto of Universidad de Los Andes.
The project aims to demonstrate the benefits of the use of L-PRF as an adjunct to scaling and root planing in the treatment of chronic periodontitis.
