DENTAID TECHNOLOGY HYALURONREPAIR

News

29 Nov 2018

DENTAID technology hyaluronrepair is a clinically backed technology based on the incorporation of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring component in the oral mucosal tissues. Hyaluronic acid works by forming a protective layer which allows for the rapid regeneration and recovery of damaged tissues.

The revolutionary DENTAID technology hyaluronrepair has been incorporated into the latest addition to the Perio·Aid® range, Perio·Aid® Bioadhesive Gel, formulated with:

Chlorhexidine 0.20%. Chlorhexidine is the most effective antiseptic and is considered the gold standard due to its broad spectrum bactericidal action. Its main activity is the prevention of oral biofilm development.

Hyaluronic acid 0.20%. Hyaluronic acid is a component that occurs naturally in oral mucosal tissues. It favours the proliferation and migration of fibroblasts and epithelial cells and forms a protective layer that favours the regeneration and speedy repair of damaged tissues.

Panthenol 5%. Panthenol favours the reduction of gingival inflammation in affected areas, and also stimulates tissue regeneration, aiding in the recovery process.

Thanks to the combination of its active ingredients, Perio·Aid® Bioadhesive Gel provides the following actions:

  • ANTISEPTIC ACTION
  • REGENERATING ACTION
  • REPAIRING / HEALING ACTION
  • ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTION
  • LONG-ACTING BIOADHESIVE EFFECT

ANTISEPTIC ACTION

The incorporation of 0.20% chlorhexidine in the Perio·Aid® Bioadhesive Gel formulation provides an antiseptic effect, protecting damaged tissues, preventing the growth of oral biofilm and reducing the risk of bacterial infection.

Perio·Aid® Bioadhesive Gel has been seen to obtain a higher percentage of oral biofilm growth inhibition, providing a prolonged antiseptic effect thanks to the sustained release of chlorhexidine.

REGENERATING ACTION

Thanks to the exclusive DENTAID technology hyaluronrepair, Perio·Aid® Bioadhesive Gel forms a protective layer on affected tissues, fostering regeneration of damaged gums and oral mucosa(1)

The images show biopsies taken from intervened tissue seven days after surgery without gel, and treated with Perio·Aid® Bioadhesive Gel.

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTION

The inclusion of panthenol in the formulation, together with hyaluronic acid, confers anti-inflammatory properties accelerating the post-surgical healing process. This allows patients to reduce analgesic intake during their recovery period(3)

REPAIRING / HEALING ACTION

Perio·Aid® Bioadhesive Gel promotes the healing of surgically intervened tissues. The photos show the level of healing seven days after extraction. In the image showing tissue treated with Perio·Aid® Bioadhesive Gel, less granulation tissue is observed, with less bleeding and better colour of the mucosa tissue(2)

PROLONGED BIOADHESIVE ACTION

After an intervention in the oral cavity producing damage to the gums or oral mucosa, the use of a product with bioadhesive properties is essential to protect affected tissues, to prevent infection and to facilitate recovery.

The topical application of a product to the intervened area is more effective the longer the active ingredient remains in contact with it. It is therefore important for the formulation to contain substances that favour the product’s adhesion to the mucosa.

DENTAID technology hyaluronrepair

The formulation of Perio·Aid® Bioadhesive Gel is based on a polymer system, including hydroxyethylcellulose and hyaluronic acid, which form a protective film on the oral mucosa providing bioadhesive action. The use of this mucoadhesive formula increases the time the active ingredients are in contact with the affected area, providing prolonged action.
