NEW ONLINE PLATFORM ON PERIODONTAL AND PERI-IMPLANT DISEASES

Periodontal and peri-implant diseases are becoming ever more prevalent throughout society. Studies on oral health by the Spanish Society of Periodontology and Osseointegration (SEPA) in 2012 show an 85% and a 35% incidence for gingivitis for periodontitis, respectively.
Furthermore, Dr. Lang (2008) indicates the prevalence of peri-implant mucositis to be 80% and of peri-implantitis to be 28-56%. In view of these data, DENTAID developed Perio•Aid®, whose formula exerts maximum control over the oral microbial load (Herrera 2003) and now, oral health professionals can access the PERIO•EXPERTISE platform whose aim is to gather oral biofilm-related scientific information
